Women With Wisdom: Encouraging Women, Empowering Lives Give

The Launch

On 19 September 2020, family, friends and partners gathered in Canada for the public launch of Women With Wisdom International. The same evening was the founder's fortieth birthday, and the two were deliberately held together: a life being marked, and a work being handed forward.

The screen that evening carried a single promise, "We help the less privileged". What had until then been personal, quiet work across Nigeria was given a name, a public face and a room full of witnesses. Everything on this site, the outreaches in Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Kwara, Oyo, Abuja and beyond, grew out of that commitment.

A message from our founder

Recorded on the night of the launch, Ms. Temitope spoke about the road that brought her to it. Her message is below, in her own voice.

When I look back on everything I have gone through, all I can see is the grace of God, the mercy of God, the faithfulness of God.

I want to serve the Lord with my whole heart. I want to serve the Lord with my gifts, with everything I have.

Reach out to the widows, reach out to the orphans, reach out to the needy, according to Isaiah 61. Myself, I am an orphan, so sometimes I identify with them.

Ms. Temitope, founder, speaking at the launch

That last line is the reason Women With Wisdom exists. The founder was orphaned herself, and the outreaches to orphans and widows are not charity performed at a distance. They are recognition.

Since that evening

What was promised in that room has been carried out steadily since. Widows, orphans, the elderly and families in need have been reached across seven states in Nigeria and internationally, and the record of that work is kept openly.
